Firm History
Co-founded in 1992 by
Bobby W. Patterson, AIA,
Architectural Design
Associates, PLLC has served a diverse range of
clients and has completed a broad body of work in both public and private
sectors.
A large portion of our commissions are concentrated in
the religious facility market.
Architectural Design
Associates, PLLC was founded as a missions-minded firm
after Bobby led the construction of a Mission Conference Center in Lome, Togo,
West Africa that he co-designed. This year long effort solidified the
missions philosophy of the firm that has sent staff members to and supported
projects in Togo, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Ukraine, Romania, Russia, Antigua,
Honduras, the continental United States and Alaska.
Service is key in our firm, both to our clients and to
our profession. Four members of the firm have served as President of the
Winston-Salem Section of The American Institute of Architects, North Carolina
Chapter (AIA-NC). Bobby served as President of AIA-NC in 2002 and
co-chaired the American Institute of Architects National Convention in
Charlotte that year.
